Zadar Wildscapes

Day 1 – Zadar
Arrival in Zadar and hotel check-in. Free time for rest and acclimatisation to the destination.

Day 2 – Zadar | Introduction to protected areas
After breakfast, a short presentation and educational session by the Public Institution Natura Jadera (45 minutes) focused on the nature protection system and key protected areas of Zadar County, providing participants with a solid contextual foundation for the programme.
Following the presentation, a transfer to the city of Zadar is organised. The programme includes a guided tour of the historic city centre and a walk through Vladimir Nazor Park, a protected monument of park architecture, illustrating the coexistence of nature and urban space. The visit continues at the Natural History Department of the Zadar National Museum, with emphasis on the region’s biology, geology and environmental characteristics.
Free time for individual walks, followed by return to the hotel.

Day 3 – Pag Island, ornithological reserve and Nin
After breakfast, departure for Pag Island. The programme includes a tour of the old town and visits to the museums of salt and Pag lace, showcasing traditional activities closely linked to natural resources.
Return towards Zadar with a stop in Povljana and a visit to the Veliko Blato ornithological reserve, which represents a striking contrast to the rocky landscape of Pag Island and highlights the importance of wetland ecosystems.
The programme continues with a visit to the town of Nin, located next to the protected Nin Bay and known for its salt pans and rich historical heritage. Tour of the old town and the smallest cathedral in the world. Return to the hotel.

Day 4 – Paklenica National Park
After breakfast, departure for Starigrad Paklenica. Visit to Paklenica National Park, including a guided walk through the Anića Luka canyon (approx. 1.5 hours) to the Manita Peć Cave, followed by a guided cave tour with professional interpretation.
Lunch at a local tavern, followed by a visit to the Marasovići museum, an interpretation centre of Paklenica’s cultural and natural heritage. Return to the hotel.

Day 5 – Modriča Cave and the Zrmanja River canyon
This day is dedicated to a speleological and active outdoor experience. After the transfer to Rovanj­ska and equipment briefing, participants enter Modriča Cave, untouched by human intervention, offering an authentic underground experience under professional guidance.
Lunch at a local tavern, followed by trekking in the protected landscape of the Zrmanja River canyon. The marked Zrmanja Riverside trail, of easy-to-moderate difficulty, leads along the Berberov Buk – Dramotići section, with interpretation of the area’s geomorphological and landscape features.

Day 6 – Dugi otok
After breakfast, transfer to the ferry port and sail to Brbinj on Dugi Otok, with panoramic views of the island archipelago.
Upon arrival, transfer and boarding of an excursion boat for a panoramic cruise through the protected landscape of Dugi Otok, offering views of the Veli Rat lighthouse and Sakarun Beach. After the cruise, transfer to the hotel on the island and accommodation.

Day 7 – Telašćica Nature Park (bike day)
An active day spent in Telašćica Nature Park. The programme includes cycling along marked trails to Telašćica Bay, visits to Lake Mir, impressive cliffs and other natural highlights of the park.
Lunch in the park followed by return to the hotel.

Day 8 – Zadar
After breakfast, departure for the port of Brbinj, return to the mainland and continuation of travel to the departure destination.

Note

The level of activity difficulty on Days 2, 3, 4 and 6 is adapted to participants’ abilities and preferences, under professional guidance:
Easy – recommended for participants who exercise little or occasionally
Recreational – suitable for those who exercise occasionally or lead an active lifestyle
Moderate – intended for guests who exercise actively several days a week
Challenging – faster-paced activities for physically fit guests who exercise regularly"
