Rab

Rab is one of the islands in the Kvarner Bay archipelago located between Krk in the northwest and Pag in the southeast. There are several towns and places scattered over the island, mostly on the south side protected from the wind Bura. On the island of Rab, there are several small towns and villages scattered over the island. One of them bears the same name as the island. Town Rab is mostly known for its four church bell towers which became the symbol of the town and island, and the town patron is St. Christopher. It is surrounded by walls that are in large part still standing and one of the symbols of the city is the church St. Mary the Blessed, whose motives Rab women translate to well known Rab lace. Sand Sculpture Festival - Paradise Beach in Lopar hosts the event in the sand, where the sculptures, based on the  theme “The Wonderful World of Mythical Beings“ are created.  Try your skills and release your imagination.
Samba Festival -  For one night in a year, the famous Lopar Rajska beach turns into Copacabana, and Samba dancers from all over the world get together in their flamboyant costumes, swinging in Latin rhythms at the party lasting to dawn.
Rabska fjera - the first and largest medieval summer festival in Croatia, based on a tradition that began on July 21, 1364, when the Rab City Council decided to pay tribute to King Louis the Great who liberated Rab from Venetian rule. During the fair, the whole city goes back to the past, as it was lived in the Middle Ages.
